Present: Andrea Rackl, Michael Hannon, Kaitlyn Ronstadt, Dorie Guidon, Eva Sauve, Lorraine Earle Treasurer’s Report: *Michael says there are a couple of advertisers that haven’t paid so they will need to be removed from our advertiser page (Rabia’s job?) Music Olympics: *Lorraine says there are enough teachers and help to make it a go; Dorie suggests getting an estimated number of student participants Nancy Heyer scholarship: Mary Walby has created forms for short term general grants and for longer term tuition assistance. The board decides the annual limit per student should be upped from $50 to $100 for one-time grants. Also: we will tell the applicants that priority will be given to MTNA and local activities and "outside" enrichment will be approved on a case-by-case basis. There will be a teacher instruction form and a student application for each grant posted on our website for teachers/students to fill out. The board will process the applications in 2 weeks, with applications accepted throughout the year. $50 can be applied to lesson fees per month, with the teacher verifying the amount of lessons in a month, including an explanation of any missed lessons. We will use an objective means of verifying income for ongoing student grants (TBD) but not one-time grants. There will be a limit of 2 students per teachers receiving assistance in a year. We will remind teachers that there are assistance programs in place through the state (for MAP; also for general needs??) and they should access these first. *Andrea will submit these ideas to Mary so that she can redo the forms and submit them for final board approval. After the board has approved the final forms we will announce the scholarship details to the chapter Meeting adjourned at 9:17. Respectfully submitted by Lorraine Earle |
